Goyer, after writing the first 2 Blade moves, moves into the Directors chair. Thanks to him I walked from this film dizzy and vomiting. For God's sake boy zoom out during fight scenes. Stop waving your camera around, I'm going to have a fit. Story wise, Blade has gone as far as he can. The character is getting stale and Snipes is going through the motions. However, Goyer has wisely moved the focus away from him, and moved onto the Nightstakers, Whistler Jr (with boobs) and Hannibal King, a former vampire and damn fine upstanding young man. They carry the story and the humour was a welcome change from Snipes posturing and growl. The film whizzes through, and for a third time, breaths are not permitted.

Reynolds makes this film. He is hilarious in every single way. His posturing, his delivery, his beard. I love this boy. I read he is the new Chevy Chase, but to me Jason Lee is the new Chevy Chase. Reynolds is the new Jason Lee. Every film in the world should have either Chase, Lee or Reynolds in them. And every 5 years there should be a film with all three. I am laughing raucously just thinking about it. Beil is pretty, she has boobs. That's about the best you can say about her. That seems to be her only function in the film, apart from crying a few times. There is certainly character potential there, and her few (and I emphasise FEW) scenes of interplay with Reynolds shows a wry wit. The only other notable performance is HHH as Grimwood. He's a big mo of. A very big mo of. Grimwood is played for laughs a lot, and for his size and screen presence I was disappointed we didn't get more of a battle between him and Blade. It certainly would have topped the Blade-Dracula showdown, His character has further potential, and perhaps a back story could be fleshed out more. My one complaint about all films is there isn't enough history behind the vampires, but then again, I am just being picky.

The film on a whole isn't the same as the others. Trinity is rescued from disappointing mediocrity by the humour and timing of Reynolds (comic gold son, comic gold). The showdown between Blade and Dracula is reminiscent of Blade Vs Head Reaper in the second film. There is a lot of CGI tossing (hee hee) and crumbling building. There is the set-up for a sequel, but I can only hope that the next in the series is a Nightstalkers film, I'm bored with Blade the character, let him be limited to a cameo in the future.
