Well, Mr Stiller and Mr Wilson got their paws on Starsky and Hutch and turned into a satire of the 70's. And it works. On many levels. First and foremost this film is funny, very funny. Roll over and get your belly tickled funny. Taking every 70's film and TV shows and ribbing it to a fantastic level of idiocy.

Stiller is spot on as Starsky, from the walk, the mannerisms and the attitude. He shows fantastic comic timing and keeps on impressing in everything he touches. His chemistry with Wilson as Hutch is magnificent. Wilson's laid back surfer persona is a wonderful opposite to Stiller's uptight, slightly anal performances. These two on screen are like a new age Laurel & Hardy, only with less planks of wood!

Snoop Dogg turns in an admirable performance as Huggy Bear without ever being given anything to demanding to do, and Fred Williamson is perfectly suited to the screaming police chief. Vince Vaughn is again superb, showing why he is so adept to the straight man in these comedies.

The film as a whole is clever to the point of genius, and it keeps up a pace that mixes the humour with the wonderful sights and colours of the 70's. The only flaw is that while being exceptionally funny and well performed, it doesn't stick in the mind the way Dodgeball, there are no stand out scenes that you remember for months afterwards. I suppose that isn't necessarily a bad thing, making it an "of the moment" movie.
