Team America's theme plays "America - F*ck Yeah", yet I have a sneaking suspicion that the filmmakers may contemplate changing it to "America - F*ck Almost". Team America is sporadically hilarious. Filled with skits and sideswipes at Celebrities while lampooning the Bush led government, mess's Parker and Stone spread their satirical net wide. While their catch is large enough to feed the village for the week, it will not sustain them through the long winter months. A mere few belly laughs must count as a disappointment when the pedigree of hilarious stupidity is considered. South Park, Baseketball, Cannibal: The Musical. All hilarious. All fantastically paced. All pure Parker/Stone. Team America falls short, there are to many "tumbleweed" moments, not much happens, not much to laugh at. However, when you laugh it is a great big belly laugh.

The script is hit and miss, which is a shame as the stereotypical characters are all present and correct. From your chipper "base boss", to the hard ass martial arts expert who dislikes actors ever since.......well, you'll find out. Kim Jong IL comes across as an eastern Cartman. His moments are pure bliss, and while he is a wonderful caricature of every Eastern megalomaniac every displayed, I was thoroughly disappointed he never screamed for cheesy poofs. The star of the show, however, are the actors portrayed. My favourite, both in style and in accuracy, was bloated, greedy, suicide bomber Michael Moore. Good on the bad South Park boys for taking the pi$$ out of him, and shame on him if he can't take it. Also in the firing line are Alec Baldwin (as always), Sean Penn (another man lacking a sense of humour), Tim Robbins and Matt Damon (great boys, absolutely fantastic). While most hit the mark, some celebs seem to be fillers (Samuel L Jackson, Martin Sheen), and the opportunity is wasted to hit some bigger names (Disney?).

I have to admit, the more I expect of people the more critical I am when they falter. Team America is funny, and entertaining, but as with The Incredibles we expect more. More you must deliver next time chaps. Make me laugh longer, harder and uncut.
